Nanette Lee Leaving K104

Friday on the Skip Murphy and Co. Morning Show, it was announced that comedian Nanette Lee would be leaving the show to pursue other opportunities. Besides her duties at K104, Ms. Lee has hosted Phat Tuesday at the Addison Improv since 2001.
Mr. Murphy said they wanted to be more open about Ms. Lee's departure because of criticism they received after popular on air personality 'Wig' departed the station. Though I had heard months ago that Nanette's days on K104 were numbered, I was still a bit surprised to get the news this morning.
According to Murphy, Ms. Lee is leaving to pursue an acting career, as well as to write a book. There was nothing on her website or My Space page regarding her departure. She will also continue with Phat Tuesday's in Addison.

Shawn, let’s not get it twisted. While Ms. Lee was an asset to the K104 Morning Show, it was time. Whoever heard of someone leaving on their own to pursue writing a book and an acting career. Matter of fact, when someone leaves on their own to pursue future endeavors, you usually get the opportunity to speak to your fans before the final curtain. Ms. Lee did not leave on her own, she was told the three words that we all dread. Just like any other business in corporate America, the radio station, specifically radio shows, lives by the bottom line..ratings, demographics, age market, etc. The Morning Show is starting to lose their advantage in the mornings to the Rickey Smiley Morning Show hence the dismissal of “The Wig” last year. For whatever reason, probably just time, Skip and the peeps has lost their touch with the community..become fat cats…complacent. Just like anything else, though, you can’t stay on top forever. According to some inside information, more changes are to come.
Good luck to Ms. Lee and let’s hope that “Slammy Sammy” leaves on his own before he’s forced to stoop down and get jacked up.

NANETTE WAS AND ALWAYS WILL BE A DIAMOND. SHE SHINED ON ADULTS AND THEIR KIDS. SHE MADE OLD SCHOOL MUSIC RELATIVE TO HER AUDIENCE AS MUCH AS SHE DID HIP HOP. SHE STOOD THE TEST OF TIME UNTIL SOMETHING HAPPENED THAT DOESN'T QUITE SOUND RIGHT. IF SHE REALLY LEFT ON HER OWN..SHE WOULD HAVE HAD A ROYAL PARTY STRAIGHT DOWN THE STREETS OF LEDBETTER AND WOULD HAVE ENDED IT RIGHT THERE AT BIG T. NO ONE THAT HAS DONE THE KIND OF WORK OR PROMOTION FOR ONE PLACE SHOULD HAVE BEEN GIVEN THAT TYPE OF SEND OFF. I understand the need for change every now and then… (maybe not THIS change)- but the Skip Murphy in the Morning owed its success to the teamwork and the chemistry that each member of the group brought to the show each morning. When Wig left- there was little communication to the loyal listeners. (Now when another key member of this show is "moving on" there is the canned response "management/Ms. Lee is moving in another direction- bla bla bla"). Too bad- as one of the loyal- I'll pass… and switch my radio up the dial to find another morning show to listen to during my commute. Nanette Lee has a loyal following in the metroplex and I hope other listeners will follow - so management may eventually understand- change is not always for the better…

Seriously if Sam leaves, I most likely will not be turning into the show except to check whats going on. Skip Murphy is not funny and corny, his role on the show was to be a moderator and keep all his crazy colleagues in line. Lady Jade is cute and June Bug is funny but OK. If they are the only ones left on the show then you wouldn’t have much of a show left. I predict Sammy is next then Skip is going to retire.

I agree with William, Nanette did not leave the show on her own accord. Because if that was the case then why didn’t she say goodbye to all of her fans, and why did Skip was awhole week to announce that she was leaving the show, she was already gone by the time they announced it on the show. I saw the interview with Debbie Denman and you can tell by Nanette’s expression that she did not leave the show on her own free will. Nanette keep your head up and Phat Tuesday will still be a huge success with you at the rein. I no longer listen to Skip Murphy K104 because the chemistry is gone and was already gone when Wig left. So Slammin Sammy you might want to go ahead and say your goodbyes now- before leave to “pursue” other options.

Ever since “The Wig” left K104, they lost some of their best skits as well as the arguments between “The Wig,” Chris Arnold and Nanette Lee. I lost my loyalty for listening in the mornings after letting Wig (go or quit) who was one of many keys to the once #1 Morning Show in DFW. And now one of the most respected female comedians in radio is gone shows that the wheels are coming off the Morning Team bus faster than expected. I wish that Skip Murphy, Sam Putney and Chris Arnold join their ex-coworkers on the other side of the K104 studio trailer and move on to bigger and better careers. Hopefully to join together one last time on radio to later retire as one of the best Morning Teams in the U.S. Much love and well wishes to Nanette in her fresh start in the post-K104 era!!! Ricky Smiley can’t hold a torch to chemistry that these guys had, not to say that he is not good, but you need more variety when communicating to the DFW listeners. Steve Harvey and Tom Joyner are the best things going. Any takers on the Morning Team showing up on a rival station, XM or Sirius anyone???

All I can say is WOW. I stopped listening a few months before Wig left and can honestly say it was a good decision. The future of K104 as we know it is unpredictable. I wish Nanette the best of luck and will continue to see her shine on Phat Tuesday!

Ok. Let’s keep it real…As Skip Cheatum would say!! It was really sad when Wig got the boot, but Nanette takes the cake. The only reason why K104 stayed number one was because of the loyal listeners. Now that the two stars of the show are gone,why should I continue to be loyal? Rickey Smiley’s show truly rocks! If only we could get Nanette over there! And as far as Skip Cheatum blasting Rickey Smiley’s show…that is whack! Focus on getting your game back tight. Too much energy on others results in not enough on yourself. Skip Murphy’s show has been boring since Wig left and dead since Nanette’s departure. Loyal listeners…..let’s move on down the road to 97.9 The Beat….The real hip-hop station….that don’t fire their good folks!

Again…WOW! As I read all the comments on the Blog, I can really say that Wig and Nannette had some true fans. I was really shocked at Wig's departure but kinda forsaw Nannette's. I really believe that is the reason why Lady Jade is on there now. Can you tell how she has somehow took over Nannette's spot. If she was truly the "entertainment" person…Why is Flo still around? I can't say that I am a die hard fan of Nannette but I had the opportunity to hang with her during a girl's night out outting to a Maverick's game. She is really cool. I do agree the show has lost alot of umph. I really lost my interest after Wig left and started listening to boring old Tom Joyner…now I can not tell the difference in 94.5 and K104's morning shows..LOL! I work in Corporate America and know how this type of thing goes. It was time for Nannette to go. I do wish her all the luck in anything she pursues. I am a fan of Nanette and Wig. I listen less to K104 since Wig’s departure, but now that Nanette is gone I will not be tuning into K104 as often. I heard Sam call Lady J, baby girl, and that has been Nanette’s nickname for years..LOL! I like Lady J, but she can not replace Nanette (they can’t mold her into what Nanette has become). I will tune into Rickey Smiley in these NUTS from now on.

I grew up listening to K104 in the mornings and it is really sad to know that the show is falling apart. I just want to wish the best to everyone who is apart of this matter and may god bless all of you.

I also grew up listening to K104 and very surprised to hear of the “Wig” and Nanette’s departure, I will remain a faithful listerner…Rickey Smiley and 97.9 can’t hold k104.

It’s sad for the radio station to tell the people that made them number 1 for years a fat lie. We as listeners know that time change, and people must change with with the time. K104 will suffer for the changes that they made, and maybe one day they will over come the lies. I promise you this I will not help them get back to number 1, so I’m moving down to another station. When Tom Joyner left K104 I did not think there would ever be a show that could top it. Well, the powers that be came up with Skip Murphy and company and did just that! I often wondered why the big name comedians that came through town never (that I know of) gave Nanette Lee a break. Names like Steve Harvey, Cedric the “Eâ€, DL etc…). Is she funny? Or does she only have local metroplex charm? I can’t believe Skip did not protect his crew. Great Presidents, CEOs, Managers surround themselves with really talented people and their job is to protect those people that helped them become successful. Skip has not done that or is not capable of doing that. Wigs’ leaving the show was the sign that Skip did not have the power to protect his team. This indicates destruction in the making of what we have known as the K104 power house. The K104 team was great together, but apart they are not! Prediction; Once Skip’s contract is up he will be released because management can not justify paying him a large salary for being 3rd or 4th in the rating. K104’s reign and season is coming to an end. Unfortunately for the listeners we have to find a new home. I hope Wig had a back up plan. Nanette Lee has her Phat Tuesday gig. I’m sure Skip and Sam will retire. I say this because if Skip was going to stay in the business he would have left while his show was number 1. This would have given him enormous bargaining power. We will continue to hear Chris somewhere because he has babies to feed. Unfortunately he does have the talent for TV sports (Dale Hansen, Newy etc…). Bug and Lady “J†well, they are new to the game and need to work on their skills or we will see them in the unemployment line…..Who will be the next K104 Crew?

K104 has been slipping for awhile now. I used to listen to those nuts in the morning at work & laughed my ass off. Wig used to crack me up & when he left I left 104 for a minute. I came back the end of last year just cause I like Nanette & Sam. It just wasn’t the same so I stopped listening again. Then the other day I was on my way to the store & I tried again. And all I heard was lady Jade & her big mouth giving that girl a hard time for having an affair. She’s so damn annoying & ain’t a bit funny. I kept waiting to hear from Nanette & never did. So I got on internet & sure enough another one bites the dust. Next will be Sam & they might as well shut it down. I used to be devoted but give me a break already. Rollen on down to 97.9.

I only listened to K104 because of the “original” Skip Murphy Morning Show. All the other jocks on the other shows (especially Skip Chitham) just make me turn to 97.9 the Beat. K104 management have just managed to break up one of the greatest morning teams ever. I dont even miss not listening to the show anymore if I am unable to like I used to when Wig and Nanette were still there. There is no longer that bond between the people who are on the show now. They all need to open their eyes and realize that it is too late to think they will make the morning hold onto the loyal fans. I now play CDs and other stations in the morning.

Man…I had been listening since I was 10 and I am now almost 25. You can’t re-create that chemistry! And they really don’t realize what they’ve done. When you wake up to these people for almost 15 years you feel a part of them. I felt like I lost a family member when Mr. Lee died. Remeber when “T-Bone” was Tom-Tom? And Erica went off to college I felt like we should’ve done a city-wide send off. I wouldn’t let anyone touch my radio,but now with Nanette gone it’s just not much holding me there. I still listen, but I do venture down the dial. I’d love to see Wig and NaNa on 97.9. That’d be a great start to a new reign in radio because Rickey and them are good, but they are far from great.

I personally think it is a shame that management at k104 decided to get rid of the two top personalities that made the morning show what it is (was). I think K104 management is so consumed with trying to cater to the teen and pre-teen audience, that they have shot themselves in the foot. The core audience of K104 are ADULTS! The same people who have grown up with the show all of these years are the very people who kept them #1 for over a decade. Wig and Nanette represented this demographic. Now, with the attempt to capture the younger audience, they have added June Bug and Lady J to the mix. Nothing personal to them…..they are just not as entertaining. If I want to listen to a morning show that catered more to the teens and pre-teens…I would listen to 97.9 because they do it better. This is what they do! K104 should do (or should have done)what they do. After all, they were number one for over a decade with this formula.
In the vague attempt to change with the times and reinvent themselves….K104 has become a follower, chasing the coat-tails of 97.9.
If this holds true (and I hope it doesn’t), then I agree with some of the earlier comments that Skip, Sam and possibly Chris will be tossed out on their butts to be replaced by more immature castmates chanting “corny” high school chants….and “fake” thugs endorsing ebonic/ghetto slang (represented by Lady J and June Bug).
But…all this would not surprise me since K104 has already sold it’s soul to the dark side. The music that is in heavy rotation throughout the day is just what our kids do NOT need (thanks Skip Cheatum). K104 always state that they are here to uplift the black community, but all they do is degrade it with the music they play. Think about it Mr. Program/Music Director.

Nanette Lee had a skit ridiculing Harriet Tubman. For those of us who actually have respect for our historical figures, she should have been fired for that alone. It was embarrassing and not funny. Her overall annoying personality is the reason I stopped listening. I am glad to hear she is gone.

Since Nanette left the show it has become dull and dry! That lady jade girl has the most annoying voice ive ever heard. I see why they’re not number 1 any more and thats the reason I flip between The Steve Harvey morning show and Rickey Smiley in the mornings.Honestly, I dont see any hope for the future of that morning show!! Nice going k1o4 management.

I do not listen to the morning show anymore either. I can not stand Lady Jade because she is annoying, not funny, and tries too hard to fit into the mix. I would rather listed to someone scape their nails on a chalk board than to hear her speak. K104 morning show might as well shut it down because it is boring.

I completely agree with Carlos. K104 has become too consumed with trying to reach the kiddie audience. And while that may work for the 6-10pm show, let’s face it: morning shows are mostly listened to by adults duing their commutes to work. And for those of us who have been long-time listeners of the Skip Murphy show, they made our commutes bearable in the morning. As a community, we laughed together, discussed hot topics, and genuinely enjoyed being a part of the “Home Team.” Now that the station has let Wig and Nanette go and brought on other random, senseless names, the wonderful chemistry the show had is gone. It’s been reduced to annoying, immature personalities like Lady Jade and grown-ups like Skip trying to “act young.” I changed my morning dial a long time ago…and I’m pretty sure most other adults in Dallas did the same. K104, I hope chasing after those kids was worth it.

I am a huge fan of Nannette Lee. The show is definetly not funny anymore. Lady J is very annoying. He voice makes me cringe. She immature and clueless in many ways in here response to certain issues or topics. Seriously, is June Bug REALLY a comedian. He is not funny at all. The thug and “G” antic are getting old. And half of the time he doesn’t sound uneducated. I wish Nannette Lee the best. I am sure she is doing well. I’m not a big 97.9 fan, so I listen to what I can. Perhaps I should see about getting a satillite radio and listen to some Doug Banks…lol

FOR THE LONGEST IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN K104′S MORNING SHOW THAT I WOULD LISTEN TOO, BUT SINCE WIG AND NANETTE ARE GONE I HAVE NO INTREST IN LISTENING ANY MORE. I HAVE SWITCHED TO RICKY SMILEY AND THOSE NUTS AND I LAUGH ALL THE WAY TO WORK.

I have never been a big fan of Skip Murphy and the Morning Team. There were times that I would stop in and listen because of the funny antics between Nanette and Wig. Now the show is sooo…annoying. There are too many people on the show. They laugh too much and talk over each other. It sounds like a bunch of squawking birds. K104’s management needs to put their ear to the ground and listen to the true feelings of the loyal K104 listeners. I listen to Tom Joyner in the mornings because he does cater to adults. K104 plays rap nonstop. The same song is played every 30-45 minutes. It makes a person sick of hearing the song. It is ridiculous. Also I don’t know if an R&B artist has a new album out because K104 doesn’t play artist like Brian McKnight and Ruben Studdard. I have to tune in to 94.5 or 105.7. I don’t know how they are going to get back to number one at the rate they are going. As far as Nanette is concerned I’m sorry this happened to her and I wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors.

I got a suggestion: why don’t nanette lee, wig, sam putney, skip murphy and chris arnold start their own radio morning show on a brand spanking new radio station. and they will back together again. That makes perfect sense. If a radio station has been number 1 for all of those years, they should re-unite. I will definetly be a listener.

I totally agree with Carlos from above. He said it so eloquently!!! K104 caters strictly to a younger generation. I, as well, grew up listening to K1O4. I remember Tom Joyner being on K104. I rather listen to Steve Harvey morning show. He is really funny. 97.9 The beat, they cuss toooo much and they are not funny, thye are very silly.

Carlos and Ramonica wrote nothing but the truth!! My mom always say, all good things must come to an end! Well the morning teams rein has come to an end. No big deal. Life goes on. Bringing back old team members is not going to breathe life back in the show. That is not the answer. The answer is finding the formula that works today. K104 needs to identify their true competiton. If the competiton is 97.9 the beat they are winning because 97.9 the beat play juvenille crap! Simply put. The minute Ricky Smiley stops talking and put on a song, I change the dial. I don’t listen to neither of the stations for the music. I listen to my CDs, satalite or 105. Lets face it, all mediocore comedians can be corny. The comedians that keep us in stitches are not on the radio everyday. The people on the radio have their funny moments. Some more than others. I did not find Wig or Nannette funny consistently. I’ve been in dallas 14 years and Nannette made me LOL once! Stop putting her on a dallas made pedestal. Besides when you put people on pedestals they can get knocked down. I wish them all success and do not ever want to see a good man(or woman) down.

Steve Harvey isn’t funny consistently, and neither is his nephew Tommy. If you want to be in stitches and listen to comedians during your ride to work, subscribe to satellite and listen to Raw Dog, Laugh, or Jamie Fox’s show “The Fox Hole” and then you will really laugh without having to listen to stupid songs in between.

All good things must come to an end and lets face it, it was time. Bringing back the dismissed does not guarantee the show will ever be the same. The new niche needs to be found, plain and simple. None of the morning teams are consistently funny. They all have their moments. I’ve been in Dallas 14 years and Nan has only made me LOL once. She is not a master comedian. Neither was Wig. Rickey has his moments as well as June Bug. I repeat none of them are master level.
So lower your expectations and get what you get from public radio. It is what it is. I am thankful radio dials are easy to set and scan through. I am a master of click, click, click to change my channel. Don’t put people on pedestals; they fall off.

If you want to laugh in the morning to start your day off right, subscribe to satellite radio and listen to Laugh, Raw Dog and Jamie Foxx’s show “the Foxxhole”. Steve Harvey is not funny consistently and neither is his nephew Tommy. I did not enjoy all that bickering between Nannette and Wig. It wasn’t cute or funny. Nannette was cocky and somewhat of a know-it-all with a hidden attitude. How was that enjoyable?

I lost interest when I heard Wig got canned. I mean, those guys pushed the envelope a LOT. Did Wig mess around and let the “N” word slip, or something?
At the prospect of no more “Owner Jerry”, I just couldn’t see tuning in anymore. Owner Jerry had me laughing from the Nina Sharavan trail, (I like the way she works it- and, I’d like to back it up) all the way to 2006.
I’ll never forget that skit- because I laughed so hard, I darn-near wrecked my car. That one, and the Owner Jerry / Big Larry discussion.
Time calls for change- but, you don’t just dismiss fan favs like that, with no explanation.
I’ve met Wig twice, Skip Cheatham twice, and Nanette once- cool people. Nanette’s been gone since January, and this is June- so you know I’m not lying when I said I stopped listening when Wig left. I didn’t know Nannette was gone, until today.
Between XM 150, and 97.9’s paternity-test Tuesdays- my dial never made it to 104.5 again.

I heard from some friends that K104 is now having a segment that they call “Real-Talk” (I really do not tune in anymore) but I gave it a listen this morning because they discussed the Wig and Nannette Lee departure.
It was actually great to here Skip Murphey, Sam and Chris finally put the truth out there and let the rest of us know what happened to them. For those who did not listen…they pretty much admitted that they were fired. The reasons they gave were legit reasons as to why people would lose their jobs. From what I gathered, Nannette continued to be late most of the time as well as being defiante to rules of the station. The “WiG” apparently did not adhere to the Program Director’s music/talk format and played pretty much what he wanted to play.
I think we as listeners, all we wanted to know was the truth. As supporters for the show, we were left out in the cold. Like the rug was pulled from beneath our feet and no explanation given.
Skip and Sam went on to let us know that June Bug, White Gary, Lady Jade and that other lady (I did not know they added anyone else)were not trying to replace Wig and Nannette and we should give them their own chance to shine. They also went on to say that change is good and inevitable. I agree that change is inevitable but not necessarily good in all cases. In this case, time will tell.
I know Skip, Sam and Chris are making good money at the station and I can’t really blame them for sticking around. But for mature men…I wonder what their personal feelings (not business decisions) are about the direction the station is going as far as adult content.
They can’t continue to act like teenagers forever. As for me, I am an adult, a father with a pre-teen and a teenager and I WILL NOT act as if I am anything less than that.
I guess a radio station can always change with the times but as I mentioned above, change is not always good.
I urge everyone to invest in a good satellite radio.

I love MS. LEE, she was the BEST thing going. I understand for managerial reasons why they would let her go. But could a lady get some parting LOVE from the fam???
I know change can be hard to take in. But K104 realize this.
@: Lady Jade is immature, when she responded in a VERY unprofessional way to the lady that cheated with Michael Jordan I was through with K104. She needs to return to college for some Speech classes, hey Mountain View has EXCELLENT professors there.
Jade, get back on the street, you are only cute to look at because when you open that mouth…wwwhheeeewwww baby close it…you can just look pretty. Skip Cheatham putting you on the morning show for scoring an interview with Janet Jackson was a hasty decision. It truly shows that Skip Murphy has no control over the morning crew.
How long can talking about you having a P.O. (Probation Officer) sound cool. IT IS NOT cool to let children think that having a P.O. is something to be proud of. When I saw Bug perform at the Improv and he was drunk I lost ALL respect for him.
And Skip Murphy…. what can I say, when I hear him singing that “What It Do” crap makes me cringe at the thought of an old man trying to be hip and young when that ship has sailed, burned and sunk. Act your age, bring the maturity of the show back. Get back to being the father figure young males and young ladies need.
The original crew should have done contracts as a group, not individually, thus increasing the power of bargaining in events like these. I just hate that Ms. Lee’s long time friends would trash her on the radio. If that’s what “Good Christian Friends,” do then God cover me in your love even more.
Wig do your thing, I hope you get your money in the end, it’s not fair that they are trying to not pay you considering you had a contract.
Nannette you got your money…I hope your lawyer was listening, you have some good damaging comments that were made to your character. If you couldn’t talk about your departure on television why should they be allowed to (as co-workers and not owner’s) just to clear their conscious and ward off some of the negative press.
Believe me, I write in at least once a week to let them know I do not like the format of the show nor the personalities. And I don’t listen to the show anymore.

i am shocked to read that nanette was trashed on the air. please tell me that this did not happen. i accept wig and nanette’s departure simply because it’s business, though it is owed to every k104 fan the truth. i know that i missed the discussion on the air mostly because i can not tolerate lady j’s (with all respect to her as a woman) intellect. i agree with one writer that the ‘what is not g style’ is not a k104 trait. it is cool to cater to the young, but k104 must pick an audience. though is was funny, sam’s song that played on friday, june 29, 2007, was not catered to the young. now, IF you are catering to the young, you should not have topics of a mature and experienced adult nature. futhermore, just like we have to ACCEPT wig and nanette’s departure,k104 should accept that braggin’ about having a p.o.(june bug) is not ‘g’. actually, it only proves that he wasn’t smart enough to not get caught doing whatever it was he did. since most ‘gees’ choose to be one because of a lack of education,(if you don’t believe it then do your own research)then that means k104 condones ignorance.

Yes Nanette was trashed and has been for the past month hear and there. I miss her everyday I get into the car and drive to work. I have no other fix at this time. Can’t stand Kid C and Jelly Rasberry. Too very conceited and pretentious people. Nanette was real, she was K104. Dear God, the times I wwould have to pull the car over every year she played “Ghost of Harriet T. Love her, miss her. She touched all cultures. And yes, 104 is an adult listening station. Stop following demographics!!! If it’s not broke why try and fix it? This will be evident with future ratings. The only reason Skip Murphy worked is the the relief from the rest of the team. Skip your not working the audience now. It was a sad day when Nanette was released. If Nanette reads this, thank you for making me laugh, cry and smile everyday!

Wow, I’m glad to have found this site…but I’m sad too. I wrote the station a long email telling them that I did not like the change in who they were targeting with the show anymore. I’m in my 30’s…I have a good job…and real buying power. I feel like the show is trying to appeal to a younger market, and for what reason? People in my age bracket buy what the sponsors are advertising. I had 3 weeks of those damned Johnsonville Brauts because I was so in love with the people. We are the adults that have made that show what it is. I love everyone on that show and know that they have limited control as to overall direction the show takes, but I can’t stand their identity now. I’ve embraced being the age that I am, and that did not happen until I moved to Dallas and got turned on to the Skip Murphy Morning show. Michael Baisden is my new favorite afternoon dj because he has real topics…plays “old-head” music, and makes me feel connected to affluent african-americans. Skip Murphy and team…much love to you all I will always remember the way things were.

I remember 15 years ago when Tom Joyner left the show and Skip Murphy and Wig came. They were very corny and the show was silly, but later it jelled and became number #1 with the help of Nannette Lee and Slammy Sam and Chris Arnold…What an AWESOME TEAM. However, things change. Unfornately, I can’t stand the change..but, as we know “all good things come to an end”. We also know from our spritual vitamin every morning, “When one door closes another opens” and “it’s a season and time for everything”, and through it all GOD is always good. I say my farewells too.. I have so many memories over 15 years. I can’t say who I will listen too in the mornings - I can’t listen to that hypocritial Rickey Smiley, whose only funny moments are when he’s making mockery the church..which soon will come to an end as well.
Im saying farewell because I must stay true to myself, and I commend Skip Murphy for doing the same..you should have done it sooner. The media and higher powers are hellbent on portraying a negative image of Black America and we buy into it. “The Morning Team” I am use to created a balance of the negatives and the positives and still managed to leave you feeling positive and somewhat empowered.

If things stayed the same all ttime life wouldn’t get interesting and you would never know what else is out there. Some time from now we may all be saying “Dang I didn’t think I would laugh so hard and listen to them so much!” Growing means seeing different things and being able to adapt to whats out there. All of ya’ll don’t even know whats in store to come but the complaining has already started. I think June Bug has a sexy voice and very funny. Lady Jade is a little annoying as in trying to fit in but I’d rather liisten to her than 97.9 where all they do is kiss Rickey’s a$$ so they can stay on. So if you like fake followers then of course you will turn the dial to 97.9.

I’m 24 years old, and have been listening to the morning team since I was a freshman in high school. In the beginning, it was just for the music. As I got older, it was because of the personalities of the morning team. Then, they really began to feel like family. I can’t tell you how many times I listened on my way to the gym, to school, to work, to class, or any other weekday morning. It really hasn’t been the same since they left, and I think we all have to try our best to give the new people a chance. Trust, it’s hard, because I listen now, and I already know I don’t like what I’m hearing, but maybe that will change with time. When Wig called in yesterday morning as Owner Jerry, I damn near lost it while I was driving to work. I’ll definitely be makin’ the move over to 105.7, in support of Skip, and I’m gonna try my best to give the new people a shot, but, like I said, just from what I’ve heard thus far, it surely won’t be easy.

I am not surprised that Skip left (or forced to leave). As I mentioned in an earlier entry, I could not see how grown men (Skip, Sam and Chris) can work in that “mess” that they call a morning show. The show is so immature now. I am sure they will be pulling the plug on Sam and Chris pretty soon because they are “old-heads” too and do not fit in this type of format that K104 has created.
It is really hard to see the show’s fall from grace. It was the only segment of the day that this station had for adults.
I really hope the best for Skip Murphy because I am sure he did not want the show to go down the drain like it had (even though he and the rest of the morning team agreed with K104 management to have Nannette-Lee fired).

K104 Morning Team will not survive as it has been recently constructed. Sam and Chris should leave and save face. I do not know the behind the scene details, but if they took shots at Nanette after her departure then their on-air personalities were trully fake as they claimed to be friends and family. The show is very corny and stereotypical. I turned in briefly this morning after Steve Harvey show went to a commercial and caught June Bug’s marijuana smoking skit. It was shameful and not very funny. He needs to take a speak class because his dialect is not becoming of a good comedian. The show seems to have no direction. I’d be very surprised if K104 survives because their programming sucks even for hip-hop. The same songs over and over. I travel frequently and listen to other stations while on business travel and almost always I hear new music by artist that get no air-play on K104. The station sucks. The best shows going are the Steve Harvey Morning Show and the Michael Baisden Show. I like Rickey Smiley as well, at least he cares about black people and supports the black community.

The morning show used to make my day every morning. Now I cannot stand to listen to it. It does not even have the family atmosphere anymore. They are not involved in the community and are afraid to take a stand against social injustices. Their chemistry is way off. Before you at least had some intelligent conversation between skip and the crew. Now, it sounds like ghetto life. Bug and Lady Jade need to take Public Speaking 101. I miss Wig and will truly miss Skip Murphy and Nanette Lee.

It makes me so sad to see this happen to the show because I felt like I was experiencing something so special when I first arrived here 4 years ago. I have never felt such a unity and culture in the black community — all generated by a radio show! It has all fallen apart…and Dallas will not be the same because of it. I heard Skip’s show today, and it has a long way to go still. I love Skip and pray for a rebirth of what he and the old crew has brought to our city; but it doesn’t look good.

The main thing that was said that was probably illegal was that Nanette was later to work all the time. You aren’t supposed to talk about the conditions of anyone’s termination. The other thing that was said was that she gave push back on the format change, and was unwilling to go along with the program. Again, that’s her business even if it was the case. Then the minor players said she was making to much money to be acting like that. That’s what I remember of the top of my head.

The morning show has lost a listener. I moved here seven years ago with my husband, who grew up in Dallas and on Skip Murphy and Co. One of the very first Dallas jewels he introduced me to was Skip Murphy and Co. I listened faithfully every morning. Nanette was funny, WIG was funny, the whole team seemed to be the perfect match. It was easy to get up in the morning to go to work, knowing the “Morning Team” was up with us.

When Wig left, it was a little hard to bear because there was no concrete reason given for why he left. We were still functioning somewhat with June Bug,(hey, all those G-style questions were kind of cute!) but when Lady Jade showed up, the show took an interesting turn….
I repeatedly heard Lady Jade’s immature, uneducated, and frankly stupid comments about various topics, (” Why would any woman choose not to have a cycle? It will just get backed up in there! Girl, that’s not normal!”) and it became really irritating after a while. To her credit, I realize that she must have some knowledge and promise to be offered a spot on a major morning show. Maybe we really were seeing her journalism prowess in her interviews.
“Ne-Yo, are you GAY? Well, why did you take that pic of some girl giving you **ad?”
“Come on girl, you was in it for the money! How can you say you wasn’t! AARGH!!”
All the while the morning team show seemed to be slipping.
“Is it G style to stand next to another G at the bus stop?”
“AWW HE** NAW, WHO DID THAT??!!”
My patience was growing a little thin.
Nanette tolerated Lady Jade’s comments in a “pat on the head kind of way.” Absent however was the playful banter that we used to lovingly hear between Nanette and Cletus.
Then came the announcement of Nanette’s departure. I can’t say I was surprised, but didn’t Nanette deserve a little more than the explanation that she left to write a cook book? Hmmm…. What I didn’t know was that we were all about to get an earful.
The “Life and Lies of the K104 Morning Show” debuted in June during a segment called “Real Talk”. My hubby and I turned up the volume with the hopes of hearing the truth about our girl, our community celebrity. Curiously enough, we heard a lot of defense for Lady Jade and Mozan.
“They had nothing to do with Nanette’s departure. For people to even think that, I don’t understand….”
Probably had something to do with POP! effect. POP! Wig was gone. POP! June Bug appeared. POP! Lady Jade is offered a full time spot. POP! Nanette is gone. POP! Mozan appears. That POP! effect has a tendency to POP! ideas into people’s heads…
The most surprising of all was how much we didn’t hear from the major players Chris, Sam, even Skip Murphy. While Skip and Sam blundered tirelessly to defend the two new girls, Chris Arnold was virtually silent. We did however hear a lot from Fly Tye, June Bug and the ever eloquent Lady Jade.
“Skip don’t have no power to fire nobody. No decisions are made by him.
”
“Man, if someone was paying me $30,000 a week, I know I’d be doing what they said. I’d be here on time.”
Well, I suppose we asked for it. We asked for the truth and it certainly did come out. The truth about where the station’s loyalties really did lie. The truth about how ethical their parent company is. The truth about the focus of the station. The truth about the future of the Morning Show. Let’s be honest. At the very minimum, Nanette and Wig should have had an opportunity to call in voice their side.
The details of their release, their earnings, none of that should have ever made it to live air. The willingness of the station to “Keep it real” with it’s listeners may have in fact alienated more than a few. Now Skip Murphy is leaving, Skip Cheatum is taking over.
“We gon’ call this business. All you have to do is say I love you and if they say it back, you win $104!!!!”
“Give us all the Chopped and Screwed versions of the songs, win $10,000!”
Sigh. I guess quality gives way to the machine that is pop culture. Should I really be surprised? After all, there was 24/7 media coverage of Paris Hilton’s arrest, release and dislike of the orange jumpsuit. Why should K104 be any different?
I am older now (29), and I need to listen to something more my speed.
I have always loved R&B and Neo-Soul. I never listened to K104 any other time but in the morning anyway, so this will make the circle complete. I probably would have never called in to the “WHAT IT DO” line and “Hey baybay, Hey baybay” is just not cutting it.
But I must say I had a grand ride and I hope the original team will be united once more…Much love to Nanette, Wig, Skip Murphy. You will be missed.

I began giving Rickey Smiley a chance when Wig was let go, then made the switch full time when Nanette departed. My son tuned in this morning (July 27) to k104 long enough for us to hear Mozan make yet another crack about Nanette. I feel that speaks volumes: insecurity, jealousy, inferiority. She would want to quit while she is ahead. As they have all quickly found out, that while Skip Murphy’s name was on the banner, it was the ‘team’ that made it work– especially “Baby Girl”. Mozan has not even begun to endear herself to this community the way Nanette has.
Have you listened to Skip on 105.7? He needs his team!
The Morning Team often chastized Skip (Murphy)for his ‘allegiance’ to management by playing a tap dance sound effect, insinuating that he bowed down. Well, my response to that is, who is tap- dancing now? Sam is as much of a kiss-up as Skip was ever portrayed to be. When Mozan made the tasteless joke this morning, it was him laughing the loudest. As long as he is getting paid, I guess….
Chris is a real friend. Nanette is lucky to have him. It can’t be easy for him working in that environment, as he has continued to stand by her.
I’ll continue to give Rickey Smiley a chance. He hovers on the silly side, but he does tackle many of the issues that are important to me. His team seems to have alot of the chemistry the 104 team used to have.
Can’t wait for the latest ratings!

I heard that crack Mozan made about Nanette too the other morning…and thought it was tasteless. I don’t know why I keep giving 104 a shot in the mornings. The show is dead! It is in no way what it used to be. Rickey Smiley is doing a good job with entertainment in the mornings, but it can still be a bit much at times. I will say…when it comes to serious issues facing our children, single women that is struggling, and yes–even the elderly– Rickey cares. I wish Steve Harvey wouldn’t get on his soap box so damned much elsewise I’d listen to him. Who’s to say what the future of “quality” black radio will be by the end of the year. We may all be listening to satellite radio before it is all said and done.

I mustsay that the management of K104 must have something great in store. The people they now have on the show that replaced Wig and Nannette are horrible. the young lady uses too much slang and she does not know how to use correct English. June bug is not funny at all. This show is very annoying. I guess they are catering to the teeny boppers because these newcomers to the show act just like teeny boppers.

I stop listening faithfully months ago after Wig left. I check back periodically to see if he was just on a leave, but he wasn’t. I can’t stand listening to the nonsense that happens on K104 in the mornings. Remember people kids are listening and we need to set an example for them. Learn correct grammar and think about what you are going to say before you say it. Good rule of thumb!

Well let me say! K104 is gone. There is no coming back. Skip Murphy and Skip Cheatum is too old for the hip hop thing anyway. Don’t get me wrong, I like them both. The show lost it when they lost Wig and Nanette. I wish they would have gave them both a big party to let us thank them for the work that they had done. I know how it is when the man want you out they don’t care about nothing, but themselves. I work 23 year at a company and I got laid off and they for got about all of the work that I did for the company. They gave people with less time then me big party and money all I got is it’s time for you to go. For Nanette and the Wig it would have been so much to the community if we all could have said thanks for making us smile and the good times that you gave us. I went back to my christian life and music. I know that no one can take away the work that God gives us for his music will never die. Sam Putney get ready you are next. And I know if the man kick you out the door you will tell it like it is. True fan will follow you where ever you may go.

I’d like to throw out a question to see what the concensus is. Would Nanette Lee and Rickey Smiley make for a good team on the radio? Take out of the equation (for this scenario) the wonderful ladies that are on Rickey’s show now…and just imagine Nanette and Rickey together. Both of them are so passionate about community issues — and are funny as heck! I think they could rule radio in DFW and beyond if they changed the format a little bit and added more neosoul and less of the hardcore rap. Please share your thoughts. Thanks.

I have also wondered about the same thing. Both Rickey and Nannette are bonafide comedians and I think the chemistry would be awesome. I think any station that want to shoot to number #1 in the ratings would contemplate this combination. Just think if Wig would jump on board. The only thing, they would have to let the current 97.9 crew go. No one could afford that payroll. Plus, it would be a gamble for 97.9. They have already acomplished their goal of toppling the former giant known as k104 ( well, actually k104 self-destructed)and already on the verge of taking over the #1 spot with the roster they already have. I think the risk may be to great for 97.9 management. It is a nice thought. I would tune in.

I listen k104guys every morning and have been a faithful listener for years. I really enjoyed Skip Murphy and the Morning Team (Wigg, Nanette, Sam, Chris) and could look forward to some good, CLEAN laughs every morning.
Now I do understand change must happen(and must do so for people to grow and prosper) but the change I’m hearing on this new “playground” is not a positive one, IMHO.
Each morning as I tune in to listen, the conversations as of late have all been SEX related or laced with sexual innuendos and undertones. Guys, there is definitely a lot more positive thins out there to talk about! And even if you just want to be silly and kid around, strippers, phat azzes, screwing and how many females Skip C. has bedded is just NOT funny. Sorry! Actually it pretty offensive and I can’t tell you how many times my friends and I have discussed how many times we’ve turned off or switched the radio station during a lot of the recent broadcast.
In a few weeks, you’ll have Moms and Dads driving there kids to school in the mornings and a few like to listen to K104, but I’m sure there will be a lot less listeners if this is going to be the cord of the show going forward!*(if they are responsible parents, that is)
Skip Cheatham being at the helm of this ship now seems to be leading it in a not so positive direction. His personality seems to be brash, arrogant and a little of a braggart! That’s not very appealing and is a huge turn-off and cause one not to want to listen.
And Flyy Ty needs to rethink the things that he says about women (i.e.,”pregnant women not being attractive/ugly”) It’s his opinion, but it was just a plain rude and ignorant thing to say. His Mom was pregnant with him at one time…show some respect! And honestly, it/he is just plain annoying!
Overall, I think the u guys gel and I realize you are trying to appeal to a younger, hipper audience, but young and hip doesn’t mean all they want to be fed is trash, sex and more sex!
I say all that to say this, I love and respect a couple of you guys, but you need to “Reel it Back” in a couple thousand notches, refocus and go in a different direction. Because as it stands now, K104 won’t hold the #1 slot for long!

I just learned of Skip’s move. I wish him luck. However I must say I am disappointed in how he and the other team members treated my girl Nanette Lee and Wig. I too bought into the whole “family” vibe but with family like that who need enemies. I stopped listening when Wig left, only to turn in every once in a while. However after the holiday break and I didn’t hear Nanette I didn’t wait for another lie I just stopped listening altogether. I wish nothing but blessing for the new crew, but they aren’t the same and I will continue to listen to my cd’s Tom Joyner and even yes 106.1 (106.1 only for the skits, I can’t get w/Ricky, and I don’t like Cousin Tommy so my tune in with Steve is limited).
June Bug: I know you have a job to do, but Nanette was a friend who helped you out so please remember this next time you want to make a comment or laugh at her.
Lady Jade: Become a lady that Ghetto, Ms. Know it All attitude doesn’t work…and I’m still trying to figure out how you got a job on the radio in the first place (only if we can vote you off)

I am very disappointed with the new K104 morning team. Basically, I started listening to the show six years ago with my son while we made our morning commute. During the early days I did not have to “explain” to my son what was going on….now at the age of 12 I have to explain the “ghetto” talk of Miss Jade and June Bug and the others. How can we do this to our young community teaching them it’s cool to be a F*** up! Perhaps K104 will hire you. I don’t know about the rest of Dallas but I am trying to teach my son class. I know longer listen to the morning team..I have joined the easy listening of Tom Joyner and Steve Harvey. Perhaps, soon everyone will begin to tune into other stations. I must admit I have always liked the orignial morning team but as we all know all good things can and must come to an end however, this new team is not the answer.

When 97.9 came on the scene catering to a younger audience especially with the commercial hip hop & sex vids of today, I knew that K104 was in for a rocky road, however, I thought that the morning team (who I’ve listed to since 1994 consistently) would’ve prevailed b/c they catered to a well rounded (mixture) audience. And as many of these posts have stated, there was a this uncanny chemistry that exuded from Nanette, Wig, Chris, Sam and Skip that hasn’t been matched.
Matter of fact the ONLY time I listened to K104 over the past 4 years was on my way to work to hear Skip M & the morning team. They were HILARIOUS. When Wig left, it was over. It was like he disappeared and they tried to cover it up.
Then this lady jade came on, I’m like who is she? Thought maybe she was covering for the ‘empty vibe’ of cleetus (whatever happened to her?) but I could tell they were prepping her to ‘take over’ Nanette’s spot or ‘try to’.
Now skip is over at 105.7 after big baby kenny j. Chris reports sports and works with the Pro teams and he ain’t going anywhere anytime soon unless he decides to go. Sam…I have NO idea what will happen, he may just retire or move over to 105.7 himself. They have a bunch of young and inexperienced kids on the show who haven’t been ‘groomed’ to take over roles previously filled by ‘professionals’. Even their new website is just trifling.
Oh well, to me k104fm is just another name for 97.9 and they both have been tuned out of my life.
I wish nanette well, wonder what happened to wig but I hope that this shift in their lives is pushing them toward greater things elsewhere.

I have to play devil’s advocate here: First of all we know Nannette and Wig as our favorite DJ’s but we did not know them as employees. This is still a business and after all the laughter and hanging tough everybody is still on the clock and has to pull their weight. I think we as listeners get too comfortable with the “family” aspect of it and forget that these people are also doing a job that feeds their families and pays their bills. There are still rules and regulations. If you don’t follow the rules, regardless of how nice and funny you are, you can be dismissed. Sometimes celebs can get too comfortable in their success and get too relaxed and feel like they run things or think they are irreplaceable. This may or may not be the case with Nannette and Wig but for Skip and Sam to publicly say on the air that Nannette and Wig was not doing their jobs and they together voted them off the show, things had gotten pretty bad. I know myself that Nannette was late a lot because I would be wondering where she was some mornings then later she would come on, especially on Wednesdays after Phat Tuesday. So look at it from a business prospective as well.
Now the new team leaves a lot to be desired. They are not God awful to me but they are a far cry from Skip and company. If you notice Lady Jade and Mozan don’t appear to be “friends” at all. As a matter of fact, Jade takes stabs at Mozan quite often. Jade comes off as immature and a know-it-all at the same time. Mozan is always talking about eating. So what? Are you trying to mimic Nannette with the “I’m fat” jokes? Surely you wouldn’t want to copy someone that you have put down on several occasions. Mozan has no real spark except for an occasional crack she throws in every now and then which is usually about her weight or eating. I was worried about Chris because as first no one would comment after he would deliver the sports blog. They would just move on like “NEXT”. Now I am noticing that they try to act interested in what he is saying and make comments. There is just no chemistry between this new team and with young people like them we can expect DRAMA like you would not believe. There will be changes made on that team before they reach a year. You watch.

When Tom Joyner left everybody thought that K-104 would never be the same.. Skip nem came in and rocked it… all good things must come to an end..Skip Cheatum and the playground must be given a chance to step up to the plate. Dogging them for not being like Skip and the morning team is crazy and selfish. Everybody has their own style. Give them a minute I am sure they will be ok. Everybody deserves a chance before passing judgement…

I have to say that I am not pleased by the new line up. I have been listening to the morning team since I was in elementary school. I go off to college in Beaumont, TX and come home to find that Wig is gone. I don’t know what they were thinking trying to add Hope Flood to the mix, but I’m glad they got rid of her. I return back to school to come home and find that Nanette is gone. I really felt left out in the cold. For a while we didn’t hear anything as to why they were fired or quit. I have also just learned of Skip Murphey’s departure. I miss the old days!

You know I have been reading a lot of the comments posted here and one thing stands clear, “We all miss Nannette & Wig”.
I have tried to listen to K104 since Nannette left, but I just can’t stomach it at all. There will never, ever be another “Skip Murphy & Company” no matter how hard they try.
The mess…I mean crew (because they are no where near a team) they have now is just sad and pathetic.
Lady Jade, whom we shall now call “Ghetto Jade” is annoying and rude as he@&. She thinks that she knows everything and does not know anything. When she made that comment about “Not wanting a man that buys his suits from K&G, what makes you think that you are better than anyone else sweetie? You should be grateful that anyone would want to put up with that voice of yours. She should have been put on some type of level or disciplinary action when she called that woman a BI&@$ on the air. Lady Jade, you need to go back and pay that college back their money for your degree, because you are a big disgrace to them by the way you talk. Hopefully as you get older, you will learn how to be a true lady, because right now, you are so far from one.
Junebug, how could you do your girl Nannette like that after all she has done for you. She helped you get that job, she has let you stay at her house. But you call yourself her friend, well it is obivous that you are not. Be careful when you take the knife out of her back, cause she just might bleed to death. And how do you know what is and is not “G”. You sound real gay. Please stop allowing our youth to think that it is okay to have to report to your P.O. every month, you make it hard on the good parents out here trying to raise their children to know right from wrong.
Mozan, please stop trying to compare yourself to Ms. Lee, honey you couldn’t touch her even with a ten foot pole. You constantly make comments and little jokes about her that you think are funny, but neither them or you are funny, so please give it a rest. You can never fill her shoes, so just try something different. And for the love of money, please stop asking Flo if she has heard that rumor or if she has gotten any dirt on you…..who cares. You are about as annoying as Ghetto Jade.
Flyy Ty, you just need to be quiet altogether. When you made that comment about pregnant women not being attractive or ugly, “Have you looked in the mirror lately” You are no Tyrese, LL, or anyone for that matter. If you feel that way about pregnant women, how did you treat your wife when she was having your child?
Skip C, how can you have the nerve to say that you are trying to help our youth by the music and the topics that you allow to be heard over the radio. Since you are the Director or Producer, you would think that you would know or do better. You even had the nerve to be on the news leading a prayer and the next morning your topics were related to sex, or you play these songs that are corrupting our children. Come on Skip, get with the real program.
No wonder you guys are # 16 on the list of radio stations, and you will continue to fall and continue to lose your listeners.

I miss Wig but Nanette seemed to hate on a lot of female guest on the show. I just didn’t think that was cute but it was apparently funny to a lot of listeners. Good luck to them both.

So with that said I take it Steve Harvey or Rickey Smiley will be the new morning show to listen too because the “Playground” is not what that is!

I agree with most people on here. The main reason why I do not listen anymore is because they are liars! They lied when Wig was let go and they lied when Nannette was let go as well. They wanted to say that we(the listeners)were part of their family. A disfunctional family I guess because they covered up the truth. The playground members are so two-faced. They sit up and make fun of the people who helped them get on the show. Sam Putney I have very little respect for anymore. I am sure Nannete Wig and Skip would have nothing to do with you anymore either. Your old skits are played out just like your other so-called playground members. Your station is now #16 for a reason. Figure it out and bring Nannete and Wig back.

I agree with basically everything has said. The chemistry is gone. I can’t even listen to the show now. I listened soley for the conversation and dialoge of Wig, Nannette, Chris, Sam and Skip M. It’s not even the change - it’s the chemistry. There is no chemistry with the current team. That’s why they have “Real Talk,” because they have nothing to talk about. So, you sit back and make up questions (usually sexual) to get the audience to call in. With Skip M.’s team - they just flowed, like all of us on this blog. I think Skip C. was better at the 3-6 slot - I can’t listen to him in the morning. Soon Sammy will leave. You’ve got youngstas on there now who haven’t lived anything. There was such a balance before. Heck, they are even advertising for jobs on the radio at K104. Desperate times call for desperate measures I guess. If Skip, Sam, NeNe, and Wig went to a satellite station, I’d listen to it in a heart beat.

I agree with all of you. She did not deserve to leave the way she did and I haven’t listened to K104 in months. The morning team or should I say the “Playground Stupid Crew” are boring. Lady Jade sounds so immature and ghetto. I guess that is what they wanted, no quality! I was hoping that Rickey would hire Nanette on his morning show. I think they would collaborate well together.

I knew there was trouble waaayyy back when after Skip talked about taking his wife Cynthia to dinner to a nice seafood restaurant…and this kid…”Lady Jade” responded something to the effect, “It was the only place he could take her where nobody would notice her odor”..ha ha ha??? I thought to myself…what the heck is that? That man, far as I know, is a Christian. And if she was going for a joke from the young crowd (I’m 29), sorry….it wasn’t funny, but very insultuous not only towards Skip and his nice wife, but women in general. Ughh!!

When Wig left the show I was very shocked and disappointed. One day he was there and the next he wasn’t. However, I still continued to be a faithful listener even though it just wasn’t the same. When Nannette left I was even more shocked, disappointed sad, and a little hurt. I still continued to listen but with Skip Murphy’s departure that was the last straw. I am done with K104.

K104 broke up a family. it is time to bring the family back 2gether. wig & nannette CARED so much about their community. while they worked all night supporting local businesses, they still showed up at 4 or 5 a.m. for work after working all night at mandated & enjoyed appearances. THAT was dedication! how dare anyone claim wig & nanette were unprepared & unsupportive of a radio station making bad decisions! their target audience was US! we drive to work in rush hour traffic & nanette & wig & skip & the gang made it all fun & fabulous with comedy and classic music we all know and love! now… someting is missing and the obvious solution is simply to bring the family back together. i spent time with them on occasion and must say the hours they had to keep were simply shocking. but they loved it! & better still, they loved each other. they ALWAYS had each other’s backs & it was soothing to be around knowing God still made good, loyal, people that could work together & care about each other. K104 is broken. nanette & wig can fix it. i promise! ratings will get back to normal when you unite that family that belongs together on air & everywhere! K104 needs to do the right thing!

I truly do miss the “Old Morning Team.” I tried to give the new team a chance but cannot stomach the show. Lady Jade is a pretty annoying personality. I feel like I’m stuck in teenage conversation with no direction or focus. I agree with the previous responses that Sammy, Nannette and Wig need to get together on another radio show. There is nothing that can substitute for the chemistry that the team had. I rode to work in tears many mornings from laughter. I was never a big fan of Nanette Lee, but loved the way she and Wig tore up the airways with constant criticisms of each other. I wish all of them the best, but the decisions made to fire the two most critical people in the morning show destroyed the show. I now listen to CD’s because there is nothing else original on the other morning shows or they just bore me to tears. The station sabotaged it’s own success. Gangstas and thugs don’t work. People driving to work do not want to listen to young ignorance. Mornings are for the adults heading to work, afternoons are for the kids getting out of school.

Gooooood riddance to Nannette Lee! She was such an annoying personality. She would on many occassions be a hypocrite. I think she did this to make herself look good but in actuality she was making her self look like a grown ass baby! She had a complex obviously about her weight and used her humor to cover it. She was just a radio personality, not a doctor of any profession so when she spoke bad about folks on the show, I felt embarrassed for her as well as for the radio station. She can make folks laugh and she should have stuck with laughter in good humor as oppose to talking down on others. Sure she had a right to an opinion but she was in a position where she had to walk softly. I believe the young lady who previously wrote that Nanette carried herself like a diva. That’s called the BIG HEAD sydrome! Because Nanette was in no shape/form or thought a diva any genre. She need Jesus in her life! Of all the personalities on the morning show, she was the most irritable and most unwanted in my opinion. It was time for change as the audience was growing into a new transition of listeners so I hope Nanette get a new view on life and learn that she isn’t the shiznit like she thought she was! Chris Arnold is the anchor on the team now and rightfully so. When he leaves….Im leaving as well. Thanks for all the years and blessed laughter and news you have brought into our lives K104!

I agree with Staci, it is hard to believe that we still want to talk about this after a year has passed. I don’t listen to them at all myself. But I feel that many of us looked forwarded to the morning team. Listening to them always made me feel better no matter what type of day I had. But now, the people that they have on the air, they just don’t know what they are doing, they are not funny, and some appear to very slow, they never get the concept of things and you have to listen to them while the light comes on. The family is gone and the children were left to play at the playground. That’s a damn shame. K-104 get ya kids out of the street before they get ran over!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I used to listen to the old K-104 crew and I do miss them. Got satelite Stern is great but Jamie Foxx is unreal. If you really want to know the low down, the real deal get into Jamie Fox’s Foxhole Station he does live shows on Friday evenings. The things he says, it puts Gossip to Go with Flo and all others to shame. He is still a home(terrell)boy and keeping it real. Frankly, all the others bore me now. When I am in a non-satelite vehicle I just flip back and forth, no loyalty. . But I do like Flava Tv, Skip is doing his thing.

I grew up with that show and just came back home from college and its so sad that they is gone…Does anyone know why they was fired? What did WIG stand fors anyways???
