I've been getting a lot of questions about who I think will be Dallas' next mayor. My answer was usually, "isn't there like 47 people running?" I had a general idea who would be the major players, but I knew I needed to bone up on the candidates. So I did a little homework over the weekend. Below is a list of candidates for the May 12, 2007, Dallas General Election. This information is available as a PDF document on the City of Dallas Website. The document lists the treasurer for each campaign, as well as the candidate's contact information.

I am a candidate for Mayor of Dallas and want to invite you to visit my website at http://www.johncappello.com. My platform is about rebuilding our neighborhoods and creating a higher degree of public safety with good neighborhoods. I want to offer a “property tax holiday” for current residents wanting to improve their homes.
It is my belief we cater to new residents but forget long time residents of our city. The program is the start of finding ways to lower our property tax burden on home owners. I am interested in feed back about the idea because we need to place our current neighborhoods first.
