The words in the theme song of a popular 1980’s sitcom go something like this: Sometimes you want to go, where everybody knows your name. And their always glad you came. Men on this particular show would fulfill this urge by gathering at a local bar. But the men of Friendship-West Baptist Church have the ability to accomplish this by way of fellowship in our Men’s Community – Operation BLACC. Operation BLACC was organized and founded in the summer of 1991 as a result of a God-given vision received by Dr. Frederick D. Haynes III. Operation BLACC is an acronym which stands for Brothers Loving and Leading the African-American Church and Community. God placed on Pastor Haynes’ heart the burden, as well as the critical need, to address the tremendous void left in our homes, churches and communities due to the absence of holy and mature leadership from the African American male. As a means of addressing that need, Operation BLACC was formed.
