Dallas was ranked as the the 6th best place to live in the U.S. for African-Americans in Black Enterprise magazine's May issue.  Dallas' ranking is down from #3 in 2004 when the magazine last published its list.  See B.E.'s insider breakdown of Dallas here .  Black Enterprise polled over 2000 respondents on its website where they asked participants to evaluate their cites based on their level of satisfaction with 24 quality of life factors.  Over 300 cities were nominated in the survey.  Seven factors were rated higher than the rest and were considered "super factors" pertaining specifically to African-Americans: - Black median household income compared with overall median household income - Percent of black households earning greater than $100,000 divided by the percent of all households earning greater than $100,000 per year - Black unemployment rate - Number of black-owned businesses per 1,000 black residents - Percentage of black home loan rejections - Percentage of black college graduates - Black homeownership rate  Dallas scored very well in the B.E. survey due to its low cost of living.  The city also rated well for average home values ($133,900).  Dallas was 2nd highest among the B.E.
