According to cnn.com , six West Virginia residents have been charged with kidnapping, torturing and sexually assaulting a Charleston woman for at least a week. 20-year-old Megan Williams had stab wounds on her left leg and bruises around her eyes.
A WSAZ news report says that the 4'11" Williams was allegedly forced to eat rat and dog feces, as well as drink from the toilet. The victim was repeatedly called a racial slur while her captors sexually abused, beat and stabbed her, her mother said. Deputies also say the woman was doused with hot water while being sexually assaulted.
“I don’t understand a human being doing another human being the way they did my daughter,” Carmen Williams said Tuesday from her daughter’s room at Charleston Area Medical Center General Hospital. “I didn’t know there were people like that out here.”
Six people, all white, including a mother and son and a mother and daughter, were arrested in connection with the alleged abduction of the 20-year-old black woman.
The FBI is investigating the case as a possible hate crime. Logan County sheriff's deputies investigating an anonymous tip discovered Megan Saturday at the Big Creek home of 49-year-old Frankie Brewster.
According to the Associated Press, Brewster was released from prison in September 2000 after serving five years for voluntary manslaughter and wanton endangerment in the death of an 84-year-old woman, according to court records.
The press also reports that, one of those arrested, Karen Burton, is accused of cutting the woman's ankle with a knife. She used the N-word (nigger) in telling the woman she was victimized because she is black, according to the criminal complaint.

Carmen Williams said doctors told her daughter she may be well enough to leave the hospital within a few days, although a nurse said the young woman's condition was listed as "under evaluation." "I just want my daughter to be well and recover," Carmen Williams said. "I know the Lord can do anything." God bless the Williams Family, our thoughts and prayers are with them. We will watch to see what happens to the Big Creek Six.

WTF?
There are two amazing phenomena at work here, and the racism aspect isn’t one of them; because that’s so regular as not to be amazing.
But the phenomena are: women taking part of rape of other women, and parents their children rapping together.
This is some terrible shit. Between this, Jena 6 and a number of other on going incidents in the last decade; black folks just need to move out of rural areas; or at least majority white ones. White folks still think it’s the 1800s in those places.

This story is about true torture, torture of a human being, a female human being, a black female human being. So my questions are will we see this story plastered across the news media? Will we see the human rights advocates march at the courthouse on the day of the trials? Will ALL races be outraged by the inhumane actions of these people? How will the charges and prison terms of these fools compare to those issued to the Jena 6 and Michael Vick?

Ben, given how rapidly this story has spread nationwide, from small media outlets to large ones, I must hope and believe the answer is yes vis a vis your media question.
One notable legal distinction to make between the accused of the Jena 6 issue and the atrocity perpetrated on Megan Williams, is the age of the accused.
Everything else aside (and wouldn’t it be ridiculous to put everything else aside?) the Jena 6 were high school students. Most were legally children.
And each of the six accused in the kidnapping, torture, and multiple rapes of Megan Williams were legally adults. 2 of them parents who assisted their adult children in the crimes.
So, yeah. If some high school kids who got in a bad but non-lethal fight get more time than 6 adults who kidnapped, raped, and tortured a woman, then human right activist should do more than march.
And black people should NOT move as Yochiba suggests. They should mobilize. And for god’s sake, VOTE, and get every black person in rural AND urban areas that they know to vote.
But I don’t really know. I’m just outraged. And terribly, terribly saddened by the harm humans will do to other humans.
[Oh, and I'm not sure Vick has any place in this conversation about disproportionately punished race crimes. He is a celebrity who committed a white collar crime. He should punished at least as much as Martha Stewart - much more than her, actually, for causing the harm of animals. ]

LOL, JMC what does voting do when you’re out numbered 85% to 15% in a town with a bunch of dogged racist?
You can keep begging white folks to love you, and they will continue not to just as they haven’t for last 300 years negroes been begging them.

Brother Williams,
Thank you for informing the public. I need to be up on current events and issues like this, because this story saddens and I knew nothing about it. It goes to show how disconnected some are from the issues that REALLY matter. I’ll be checking out your blog. Again, many thanks.

Those ppl…. I can’t imagine what kind of human beings would do such awful shit. I pray that the Lord heals her and saves a spot for her in heaven. And I hope she lives a great and normal life after she recovers emotionally. And for tjose 6 nasty ass bastards I hope they suffer in the life and the after life. I hope they rot in hell and feel the pain that she felt. God will get em’. Got bless your soul Megan
