Dallas South Blog will post live to and from Jena 6 rally

On Wednesday night concerned citizens will gather at Friendship-West Baptist Church.  Then at midnight those buses (over 1,000 folks are expected to leave from Dallas) will head out I-20 to Jena, Louisiana in support of Mychal Bell and the Jena Six.

Thanks to Bryan Robinson of Cellhire USA for helping me to pull the technology together.  Make sure to contact Bryan and Cellhire for all of your wireless needs - both national and international.

Pending wireless coverage in rural Louisiana, check Dallas South beginning around 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday September 19 as I chronicle our journey to Jena.  There will be pictures interviews and more on this website throughout the day on Saturday.

Please wear black on Thursday in support of the rally in Jena.  And please be in prayer for those who are traveling to Jena from as far away as L.A. and New York.

    Shawn,

I give you and other bloggers major props for your passion and for giving us news stories that often never make it to the mainstream media. I first heard about the Jena 6 on Dallas South Blog, you and others in the blogging community were discussing this issue weeks before Michael Baidsen, CNN and others. I also give props to Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson for being on top of this story and traveling to Jena before the story hit the national news. I know the younger generation often dog-out these men, we may not always agree with their actions, but there is a level of respect we must give them, they were standing for justice while many of us were in diapers.

Hopefully the passion, the anger for injustice and the united stand of all age groups and races that we are seeing for the Jena 6 will continue. There are sooooo many cases like Jena 6 and worst going on daily in these yet to be United States of America that never make it to the airwaves. African Americans need to be more conscious; watch the news, read more, research politics and political candidates(local & national), vote, be involved in the process.

God Speed on the trip, I hope the wireless coverage will allow you to blog live, we will be checking the site often for your prospective.
