Old School Friday - Whodini’s ‘One Love’

Categories: Entertainment
Written By: Shawn Williams

I was introduced a few weeks ago to the Old School Friday meme by Mrs. Grapevine. Each Friday bloggers post a video from back in the day. I’m kicking mine off with a classic from Whodini - One Love. I remember me and my cousin Darius recorded this video and learned that side step that they do. As basic as it looks now, it should have only taken 5 minutes to get it down.

Here are some other bloggers who are also participating in Old School Friday.

Happy OSF! Whodini was a trip. I enjoyed this One Love song back in the day … but, you’re right, that side step shouldn’t have taken you and your brother too long to learn (smile)…

My Old School Friday posting today features The Whispers.

    peace, Villager

Nice… Whoodini was a favorite as soon as I heard the bass on “Friends”. That was definitely an 80’s club banger. This one was a more laid back cut.

This is one of my favorite Whoodini songs. I use to have a crush on them. I would by Word Up magazine just to get a glimpse.

Man o Man, that brings back some great memories of the 80’s. Whodini is one of my favorites! While I was in college we had a guy on our basketball team who name that dance the “live”. He use to do that dance at free throw line after making a shot!
Peace and Love to all D-South Bloggers

Yeah, One Love is one of the better rap love songs. But my favorite Whodini jam is Five Minutes of Funk…”…five minutes of funk, this ain’t no junk, pull your bottom, off the tree stump…”

Yep, those were the days. Good choice!

  6. DP Says:

Shawn, that was the cut, one of many by Whodini. We used to trip off of dude’s hat. I swear my older brother based his whole high school persona on him!

We went live with Zapp and the Coomodores today for our contribution: http://therealready.blogspot.com/2008/04/musical-interlude-old-school-friday_18.html

That brings back memories. I will try to participate next week.
