This summer, Dallas area youth have the opportunity to participate in a paid summer internship with ExxonMobil. Students who are selected for this program can earn approx $2,000, for 8 weeks.

According to the Exxon/Mobil website, the Dallas portion of this effort will allow up to 60 high school juniors and seniors to participate in the eight-week program as ExxonMobil Green Team Ambassadors. Students will be placed in teams of three to five and work with local nonprofit organizations to promote environmental awareness or develop environmentally-focused projects.

The website also states that students will take various courses at Southern Methodist University and participate in weekly reflection activities and educational field trips. In 2009, the eight-week internship will take place from June 5 to July 31.

If we are a sophmore about to be a junior, does that make us eligible for the program?

  2. Ricky R Says:

I am a current ambassador and you will have to talk to the employer for that. She might let you be her personal intern like the other sophomores

  3. Amy Says:

You are not eligible to participate in the program if you are an upcoming junior. Only kids who will be seniors the next school year and kids who have already graduated are eligible. One more year to go, Laura!
