Hat Tip to Mike Davis of Dallas Progress for turning me on to this R.I.P Dallas produced video in the spirit of “Yes We Can.” I saw a few friends of Dallas South in the video, including Ms. Jan Gore and District 5 City Council Candidate Tiffinni Young.

The refrain is “This Is Our City,” and it is. This is our city, and now is our time. Let’s Vote No on Propositions 1 and 2.

    Shawn,

Whether you think that Matthews Southwest or Omni Hotels should have access to tax-exempt financing is all a matter of opinion. I can respect that, even though I disagree with it. But this video states that these propositions allow “[n]o road, service or utility improvements” or “[n]o anything really.”

Shawn, that is an utter lie.

During the Trinity Referendum, Mayor Leppert claimed that the NTTA could finance the Toll Road and that the Army Corp. had approved of the road’s design. Both of these statements were lies, plain and simple. Now our Mayor is making statements that directly contradict a city sponsored study AND a group closely affiliated with him is making the above false statements?

What kind of corrupt political machine are we creating in this town?

And furthermore, what kind of blog are you running when you post a video that contains such obviously false statements and all you do is tip your hat to the guy who “turned you on to it?”

As a blogger, what sort of obligation do you have to your readers to debunk such statements?

    Nathan

Get this — just released by Anne Raymond and the Vote Yes campaign:

“During early voting, this Monday, April 27 through May 5 and again on
Election Day, May 9, we need volunteers willing to work the polls and
remind voters a YES vote on Prop. 1 is a vote AGAINST the
    taxpayer-owned hotel.

All of the polling locations we will be covering during Early Voting and Election Day will be north of I-30.”

Whaaaaaaat????? Are they afraid to come over here? Do they think we don’t have polls on this side of town. I am flabbergasted and insulted beyond belief.

I guess the ONLY taxpayers the Vote Yes crowd is trying to take care of are the ones on the north side of town. There you have it. At least they are being upfront about it.
